Naming and census identity

All three sources spell it the same way: the 2009 gazette, the DSIRDA Development Plan villages map and the 2011 census sheet all print Gogla. Nine of the twenty two villages have at least one variant spelling; this is not one of them.

These are Census of India 2011 codes. Village codes are reissued between censuses, so they must not be read as current Local Government Directory codes. No Local Government Directory code was available to this extraction, and no Gujarati spelling was available for any of the twenty two villages, so none was transliterated or guessed.

Town planning scheme membership

Membership is recorded from the title block of each scheme sheet. What is not recorded anywhere is how much of Gogla lies inside each scheme. Every sheet uses the words part villages, so only a portion of the revenue area is inside, and no supplied document gives that portion in hectares or as a percentage.

  • No Gujarati spelling of Gogla exists in any source document, so the field is empty rather than transliterated.
  • The share of Gogla that lies inside any scheme is unknown. Every scheme sheet says part villages and none quantifies the part.
  • No land class is recorded against Gogla or against any parcel in it. The two datasets behind this atlas contain no tenure class at all, which is set out in full on the land classes page.
  • Population, amenities and village level census attributes were not extracted. This record carries codes, names and the schedule figures only.
